domswstanislawa.jpgOur trip to Poland in August 2010 was fabulous.  In Zakopane we stayed at the St Stanislaus Ski Lodge, a converted convent - comfortable, spotlessly clean, affordable, and well located for hiking or skiing.  Innkeeper, Greg, is a gracious, English-speaking host.

While in Zakopane be sure to take the gentle, group rafting trip on the Dunajec River which separates Poland from Slovakia.

The end of our trip took us to Krakow.  Krakow’s marvelous Square, the largest in Europe, offers unending opportunities for sight-seeing, dining, socializing, shopping, or just wandering.  Concerts, Wawal Castle, the magnificent cathedrals, the Vistula River, city tours, fine restaurants, bus and train stations are all easily accessible from the Square.  English speaking tours are readily available from Krakow.  Not to be missed is the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
